Judging
This competition will be judged using the International Judging system. The BIS Technical Requirements for National Singles and Pairs Open Competitions valid and applicable at the time of the competition for 2024/2025 season, which should be read in conjunction with any relevant ISU Communication and revisions, will be the official criteria used at this event.
Entries
- The competitions are open to all fully paid up eligible skaters as defined by BIS & will be held under BIS Regulations & Permit. Skaters who have not paid their membership by the date of the draw will not be entered into the draw and therefore will be unable to participate in the competition.
- All test requirements are National tests with the exception of Competitive tests where appropriate and are exactly as per current BIS Generic Programme requirements.
- Entries will be treated on a first-received basis, subject to the clearance of the entry fee, with limited entries in each section subject to time available. Oversubscribed categories will be capped & applicants will be informed shortly after closing. NE Opens reserves the right to close entry to any of the categories prior to the closing date should they become excessively oversubscribed. Reserve lists may operate until the closing date. Qualifying date for age is at closing. If any category is over-subscribed they may be divided using age at closing.
- Where eligible, if entries have been submitted for 2 events the skater must state their preference if the club can only accommodate skaters in 1 event due to time restrictions.
- All competitors must be ready to skate at least 30 minutes prior to the time stated on the timetable throughout the day.
- All skaters must complete a programme content sheet using the correct official element codes and must be reflective and relevant to the skater’s routine. This form must be completed when the online entry form is completed. Entries will not be accepted without it.
- Entry forms must include all coach’s details including seminar venue/dates. All BIS licensed coaches must have attended the relevant discipline specific IJS seminar at the Coaches Conference in the last three years to be awarded accreditation. Any coach who has not yet attended the Coaches conference may not now be accredited – any IJS seminar prior to 2019 has now expired. A field moves seminar must also have been completed prior to the date of the competition – this, however, may have been completed prior to attendance of the Coaches Conference.
- Test passes for IJS competitions must be obtained by the closing date. The national standards will be strictly adhered to. If the standard of a skater should change before the closing date, please notify the competition organiser immediately via email to [email protected] . Please note the entry will then be re-submitted at the higher level as at original time and date of entry.
It is expected that Adult Competitors will enter at a level appropriate to their current skating ability. Competitors are not obliged to enter the same level as in previous years. - For all Beginner competitors who have not achieved BIS level 1 Field Moves or Skills 1, a photocopy of the Skate UK Passport must be supplied via email to [email protected] at the same time as the online entry form & Programme Content Sheet.
- Online entries only, no postal entries will be accepted.
- No entries will be accepted after the closing date.
- Please do not contact the competition organisers for an indication of what date competitions will be skated. This information will be available on the NE Opens website once the timetable is officially released after the closing date.
- All skaters will be filmed for IJS purposes.
Music
- All competitors shall provide music by means of upload via form in a MP3 format upon request after entry has been confirmed.
- When contacted for a copy of music please note there will be a 7 day deadline. If music is not received within this time then the place may be offered to another skater.
- A backup copy of the music on mp3 player or other device (phone) should be held by the coach at rink side.
- If a skaters music is changed after original submission, for example due to a test pass being achieved, the organisers must be contacted immediately via email at [email protected] for further advice on how to supply the skaters new music.
